Majority Does Not Always Rule
ByMy husband, my 15-year old and myself set up a booth at a craft festival this weekend. We had made previous commitments to my brother to do this for the 2009 show season.
It was amazing to listen to people. There was constant talk about how bad the economy is and how everyone is hurting, yet they would turn right around and drop $50.00 to $200.00 on ridiculously jacked up festival food prices and crafts.
I got to thinking. This is just like social media. People ”are” hurting, yet they turn to something to make them feel good. Might be a big ole’ elephant ear, some new jewelry, a new tool or it could be “you inc.” You being that person that gives them hope that you can help them change their life.
Now, once these folks go back home, they are going to start figuring out how much money they spent and start trying to stressfully figure out what they are going to have to do without to make up for the outrageous amount of money they just unloaded at the festival.
This is where we come in as business leaders. We have got to know how to show people how to create an entirely new way of life so when they do go places for fun, they have money to spend that is not going to put their family in a financial bind.
People are looking for a way out and they just need the correct information to know which door to open that takes them to a totally different place. For example, Mike Dillard’s Building on a Budget is a great place to start for those that are strapped for ideas on how to start a business with little to no capital.
You can start with little and achieve much. Look at what Warren Buffet has accomplished in his lifetime and ask him if he thinks the economy is in trouble. I don’t know about you, but the man has a few year’s experience under his belt. Just remember, majority does not always rule. This is the type of thinking that gets us nowhere. I plan to be in the minority. How about you?

Excellent observation, Rhonda. My mentor Jon Keel, tells me that he doesn’t watch TV or the news and makes absolutely sure he listens to one positive CD or DVD training on personal development or marketing per day.
His SEO business right now is exploding as a result. Keep your thoughts pure.
