Was Your Toyota Recalled?
By
Have you seen the new Toyota commercial on TV where they are owning up to the inferior quality of vehicles they have produced recently?
The commercial goes on to say that they have stopped production on all new vehicle orders so their employees can spend whatever amount of time it takes to correct their past mistakes.
I also received an email from Toyota today (I don’t own a Toyota product): It basically read, “Millions of Toyota & Lexus Vehicles Recalled!; Gas Pedal & Floor Mat DEFECTS; Are you a victim…; Recall alert – click here”.
I can just imagine how many Toyota & non-Toyota owners are having a cow about the recalls. I can picture a stampede of people running into the Toyota dealer with clubs in hand ready to club to death anyone associated with such a faulty product.
Here’s the way I see it: I say “Kudos” to Toyota for backing their product. It took a lot of guts and initiative to admit they were wrong, but they are going to do “whatever it takes” to make it right.
How many times have you made a mistake in your business, but are just too ashamed or embarrassed to step up and fix it?
I can relate my business to Toyota. We all have a product to sell; we build a customer base and when things go awry, we generally shut down production and run. i.e. Hopping from one business to another when it fails. Or, umm, should I say when we fail.
A product cannot fail without human nature being involved.
Maybe next time something goes awry in our business, we should take the time to stop production and make it right.
This will build incredible character and our customers will realize, “Hey, I’m actually working with a real person“.
This is a sign of a Great Leader!! Are you a Great Leader??
Cheers to Challenges That Make Us Grow,

Hi Rhonda,
I don’t own a Toyota either, but like you I have gotten several emails on how to get mine “fixed”.
But Toyota owners need to be very careful about the emails sent to them, only hours after Toyota set up their recall phone number scammers had set up a number with only one diferent number in it.
On the false number they are told very fast that there is a fee for the call and are then are asked for personal info to “properly indentfy you”.
Not only are they being cheated on the cost of the call, they are paying to be a victim of indentity theft.
The emails may be along the same line.
On the subject of owning up to your mistakes, you can not grow until you accept responsibilty for your mistakes and learn from them.
Once done you are almost automtically a Pre-Alpha, a new leader on the rise.
Michael
PS Have you tried Disqus Comment system yet? It’s killer.

Hey Michael,
Great Point. Unfortunately, it’s sad that scamming will always continue to be a thorn in the side of any computer owner.
On the positive side, all evil gets theirs in the end.
I haven’t heard of Disqus Comment system. I will definitely Google it (my favorite pasttime:)
Thanks for the comment,

Hey Rhonda,
I like how you spun the Toyota recall to business. I said this before to someone, If you are part of a solution and it is not going to well…Take a look at the mirror and that is who to blame.
Chat with you later…

This was big news today…
I guess the head honcho is coming
all the way here.
But I totally agree.
If you mess up, fess up.
That’s the way I see it.

@Jason, Hey Jason,
Glad you stopped by.
I just read the other day on Yahoo, so take it for what it’s worth, that the recall was not going to fix the problem.
I also seen a new commercial along the same lines as the one I mentioned in my post.
It’s funny, we use to have a saying years ago at a job I had that “If you mess it up, you fix it up”. I’ve carried that saying through life with me. I actually told someone that not too long ago. (Within my personal family:)
I may have to make an addendum to my post or do a Part 2. Heck, this could turn into a series of it’s own. LOL
Have a great evening. Will look forward to a new post from you tomorrow
Rhonda
